“Bipartisanship”

The jig is up! Right there, at the 5:55 mark in the video. That’s their tell… it’s how they view their political opponents. That’s what they see as how Democrats act… the same way that they would act.

Now, I’m not that cynical either. I do believe Ms. Abrams truly believes in what she’s selling. She believes in compromise and bipartisanship to create the right legislation… but there is no bipartisanship to be had! McConnell said so… and who thinks that there will be any bipartisanship to be had in an election year?

Any comity between these two parties will VANISH come January.

The MAJORITY presents the agenda and pursues the interests of the VOTERS, and the MINORITY either supports its ascent or they oppose it… and the PEOPLE decide if they should stay or if they should go.

There is no in-between. It’s
ACTION vs. INACTION. 

 

 

That was their plan all along. Distract and delay. Feign bipartisanship in the interest of “the people”… ‘The people want bipartisanship.’ And now Democrats want to kill legislation because of a lack of bipartisanship, and Republicans WON’T BUDGE because of bipartisanship. 

It’s the only thing they agree on! 

 

Who benefits from INACTION… the DONORS.💰 

 

They don’t want ACTION. More regulations. More oversight. More accountability. It would cost them more MONEY… and that’s WHY they want “bipartisanship”. Legislators legislate based on MONEY and the pursuit thereof. They work for the MONEY so they can get re-elected.

Bipartisanship is not what The People want… The People want ACTION. They want to see legislation passed that helps the American Middle Class, and whomever stands in the way of that action will be judged by THE VOTERS.

That’s why they’re trying to take the franchise away.

What is a “wasted vote”? I’ve heard it plenty of times, ‘A vote for a third party candidate is like throwing your vote away.’ 

But seriously… WHY? 

To every Conservative Republican who’s voted the party line over the last 30 years: What has it done for you? Stacked the courts at all cost… denied the dying wishes of a Supreme Court Justice… denied the Constitutional RIGHTS of a Black Man, while he was our Commander-in-Chief… 

They’ve taken advantage of you. The Supreme Court has now AFFIRMED these laws, that multiple Senators and multiple Representatives have raised MONEY on for DECADES… all while they didn’t tell you the FULL STORY. At the 16:55 mark in the video…

If you want to end abortion in this country, you have to reconcile that with the fact that women are treated as SECOND CLASS CITIZENS under our law.

To every Progressive Democrat who now questions, ‘WHY should we even consider voter ID requirements? It’s a SOLUTION looking for a PROBLEM.’ 

For FOUR YEARS, every program on every progressive news outlet (MSNBC) shot up the signal flare daily about Russia interfering in our elections, and how we need to secure our elections from foreign interference. 

Where is that passion now? Accurately directed passion, no doubt! We all STAND on the same side… the monied interests have us standing BACK to BACK, daring the other to walk the line. 

The Democrats need to reconcile their desire to secure our elections with the fact that we need to verify our elections are secure. For every citizen… EQUALLY. 

What is the PRICE of a verified United States ID? In terms of dollars and in terms of time spent pursing that ID? For a family of FOUR, how much does it cost to secure a PASSPORT for the entire family. 

It costs well north of $1000 for a family of four to secure verified ID for international travel and it can take half a day to complete the process depending on where you live. 

By ensuring a verified USID for every registered voter FREE OF CHARGE, we solve two problems at the SAME TIME. 

On that thought… we might want to start thinking about opening MORE United States Postal Service locations throughout the country and hire more employees. 

Right now, neither party is willing to do what’s necessary to secure our right to VOTE… why would anybody waste their vote on either of them?

Let there be NO DOUBT in the results of our elections. Let us solve these problems BEFORE the elections, not resurrect bad decisions from our PAST. 

I believe in the security of our elections. Let us secure ACCESS for every citizen, so we can clearly determine the Will of The People.

#1. ONE CITIZEN=ONE VOTE

As a representative government, the people give their consent to be governed by the elected at the ballot box. Any system that allows selective access to the ballot or relies on an intermediary interpretive process to determine the outcome of an election, is susceptible to CORRUPTION of its integrity. Does our current election system produce a CLEAR MANDATE from the people? If we created a NEW ELECTORAL SYSTEM, what would we want that system to BE…

 

A political system in which candidates run for office based solely on the merits of their ideas. An election system in which the winning candidate is decided by the people at EVERY step of the process, from the Primary to the General election. When you walk into the booth in November, you already know every candidate on the ballot because every candidate has already faced MULTIPLE statewide primary elections and they have been fully vetted… not by a group of wealthy individuals or entities who stand to profit off of a particular candidate, but by EVERY REGISTERED VOTER in EVERY STATE.

Right now, how do candidates for office make it on to the ballot? MONEY. And that effects EVERY aspect of our daily lives, in the form of the legislative agendas pursued by the winning candidates.

In our current Primary Election Process, KANSAS has just as much Electoral Power as CALIFORNIA… because neither of us are IOWA, or NEW HAMPSHIRE, or SOUTH CAROLINA. By the time the first handful of States have decided who they think should be on the ballot, the impression of being a “viable candidate” has been cast. Any candidate that doesn’t win in those first States, in the eyes of the voters, is irrelevant.

 

But, then again… it really doesn’t matter what the voters decide at the ballot box. ALL decisions are made at the convention by the DELEGATES. The long days, shaking hands, eating corn dogs, promising this and that… if the DELEGATES can’t agree, it’s all up for grabs.

 

The Constitution does not outline our current system. It’s a patchwork of precedent and legislative guardrails passed to prevent misdeeds from reoccurring, while ignoring wrongdoing that goes “undetected”, and failing to prevent future abuses of a largely unregulated system.

We should not stifle candidate’s voices or limit their possibilities, but we should more clearly define the parameters in which they are allowed to operate.

 

Every candidate’s message should be fully accessible to every voter INSTANTLY via a universally trusted source. Without the filter of the media. Without the filter of moneyed interests. If a question of substance arises during the campaign, a voter should have easy access in order to ask that question, and how the candidate chooses to address it will be seen by EVERY VOTER. On the FIRST DAY. On the LAST DAY. Every voter. Every candidate, regardless of party.

No legally binding limitations on candidates’ ability to engage in debate. The vision and direction of the campaign should be decided by the candidate and judged by the voters, not first judged by the FUNDRAISERS and THEN the voters. The current system gives rise to deception, in fact it is REQUIRED to be successful. Candidates are forced to run a campaign that appeals to a majority of HALF of the electorate FIRST, to display PARTY LOYALTY… in order to secure FUNDS.

… how much of that total is just waste and greed?

 

All Federal Elections should be 100% FUNDED by the TAX PAYERS. The candidate directs the message and creates the VISION, the PEOPLE fund its creation.

Yes… that is a lot of money. But just consider the amounts currently spent on advertising and appearances on media outlets. The United States can leverage a better deal when purchasing ad blocks for EVERY CANDIDATE and air-time for ALL EVENTS… equally. It unlocks multiple possibilities for SAVINGS, but also for GROWTH.

All of the effort dedicated to changing the way we choose our candidates would be wasted if we did not address the other side of this issue… who should be allowed to vote in our elections.

Voter suppression. Through threat of violence, through fear and intimidation. Through misinformation and misappropriation. MILLIONS of dollars are spent every year to stop people from casting a vote. To paint a picture in the minds of select groups of voters that says, ‘Your vote doesn’t count’ or ‘Send a message by NOT voting’… all while knowingly aiding their preferred candidate just by keeping people OUT of the process.

 

LOWER participation in their eyes, means VICTORY on Election Day.

 

The War on Drugs has created a PERMANENT way to disenfranchise millions of voters through the legal process. Laws carrying punishments that take away voting rights, written by legislators that are BEHOLDEN to campaign DONORS, both of whom will never be targeted by such laws. Even if they were, they could easily afford the legal fees necessary to evade punishment.

Felony convictions, YEARS behind bars… for possession. MILLIONS of people who cannot vote while serving their sentence, and are unable to regain their right to vote once released. The requirements in some States are vague, unattainable,  or discretionary depending upon who stands before the governing body that decides their fate.

Every prisoner should have the right to vote, while serving their sentence and after they are released. If the goal is rehabilitation and a successful transition back into society, then they should feel like they are a part of the system and have a say in their destiny.

 

At the very least, they should be able to hold their representatives accountable when they have failed to protect their interests:

What should be required to vote?

CITIZENSHIP.

 

That, and age.

 

The age of enfranchisement was lowered under President Nixon from 21 to 18. As the Vietnam War raged and the draft was sending citizens 18 years and older off to war, it made sense to give them a VOICE on who was making that decision. From another perspective, I would not want to send someone off to war without their having a say in the matter, just as I would not want a CHILD deciding my fate.

But our definition of the word “war” has evolved. Since that time, we’ve invaded a country unilaterally without evidence supporting our decision. We’ve declared a war on an “idea” that has no clearly defined objective, and we’re currently under attack in an undeclared VIRTUAL WAR where NO ONE can be charged with aiding and abetting our adversary.

 

In 2019, more CIVILIANS died in mass shootings than SOLDIERS were killed on the battlefield in the War on Terror.

At 16 we can get a job, drive a car, and PAY TAXES. The ability to participate in our society begins at 16.

Every United States citizen over the age of 16 should be guaranteed the Right to Vote. That should be the goal of the United States Election System.

We All Know What the Problem IS

MONEY. Spent by someone, in SUPPORT of a particular cause or a political candidate.

MONEY. Spent by someone, to work AGAINST an opposing political candidate or to support an opposing ideology.

MONEY. Spent by someone, in SUPPORT of a cause that stands antithetical to their OWN core ideals, simply because that group stands opposed to another candidate.

MONEY. Spent by someone, in support of BOTH CANDIDATES in order to establish influence with elected officials… no matter who wins an election.

Whether it’s in the SUNLIGHT or through DARK MONEY methods, the result is the SAME- legislators legislate based on MONEY, and the pursuit there of. Of course it would eventually lead to SELF-ENRICHMENT over the wellbeing of the NATION.

We are ALL BUT MEN, susceptible to fallacy and vice.

In a system based on HONOR, it was only a matter of TIME.

 

 

Without the financial support of the NRA, how many candidates over the course of the last 30 YEARS would NOT have been able to run for elected office? How many SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES would have LOST without that support?

A generational POWERHOUSE like the NRA falls due to the same vice, the same corrupt motives seen countless times before. Now, the recklessness of individuals at the TOP of that organization have put our LIVES in jeopardy by prioritizing MONEY over SAFETY. In order to strengthen their position, they’ve worked to create a false equivalence between SAFETY and DISARMAMENT, between our Constitutional Right and financial support for a NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION.

 

Talk about effective marketing. How much MONEY did that cost?

 

 

 

MONEY shapes the conversation. MONEY decides who is INCLUDED IN that conversation. MONEY INFORMS you that there’s a conversation to be had on the subject in the FIRST PLACE…

MONEY is spent everyday to make sure you don’t realize that conversation even EXISTS.

Speaking on the issues of Equal Rights for Women in September 2010, Justice Scalia said: “Certainly the Constitution does not require discrimination on the basis of sex. The only issue is whether it prohibits it. It doesn’t.”

 

Maybe it was truly believed at some time in the past, that the protection of women should be SOLELY the responsibility of men and that women were better off NOT having to worry about taking care of themselves. One could… theoretically… construct a legal argument that would rationalize the SEPARATE STATUS of HALF of the population.

BUT… is there ANY DOUBT as to the question of EQUALITY? The only argument against Equal Rights for Women that passes as SUFFICIENT is, “They ALREADY have it.”

Well, it seems we’re ALL in agreement then… they SHOULD HAVE IT.

Yet they STILL do not.

 

WHY.

 

Imagine if HALF of the United States Senate was NOT given EQUAL STANDING. It might have been easier to pass the Affordable Care Act! It might have been easier to SHUT IT DOWN.

The effect of denying Equality to HALF of the population is- it allows the continuation of agendas that are not in the interest of THE PEOPLE, but they ARE in the interest of people and organizations that would stand to LOSE MONEY if the Constitution suddenly demanded Women must have EQUAL PAY.

MONEY should not define our Legislative Moral Agendas. MONEY should not be the deciding factor in whether someone is WORTHY of Equal Justice Under Law. From the HIGHEST COURT to the local Circuit Court. From CORRUPTION to POSSESSION…

 

… with LIBERTY and JUSTICE for ALL.

 

Not just for SOME or a SELECT FEW. If we BELIEVE it is SO, then we should MAKE IT SO!

If MONEY decides who can have ACCESS to POWER, then controlling who can have ACCESS to the MONEY makes it easier RETAIN POWER by RE-DEFINING the electorate. People who are able to make more MONEY will be able to live in… certain areas where property values are HIGHER. And those who cannot will live in… OTHER locations.

Some locations PRE-DETERMINED, in order to assist lower-income families. Locations that exist within or near ALREADY existing, lower-income neighborhoods. Now, add the ability possessed by legislators to RE-DRAW their OWN DISTRICT LINES every 10 YEARS, and we can see where the problem LIES.

 

Change the district, change the vote totals… change the representation.

Change the AGENDA.

Change the NARRATIVE, CONTROL the conversation.

 

When you consider the HUNDREDS of BILLIONS of dollars made by interests like the pharmaceutical industry or oil and gas companies, and compare that to the MINISCULE investment of TENS of MILLIONS of dollars in a handful of political races, there’s no FINANCIAL RATIONAL for these entities to support causes like Equal Rights for Women, or a $15 minimum wage, or mandating employers provide heath insurance coverage for their employees, or mandating prisons pay the added expense of providing feminine hygiene products to female prisoners.

For the de minimis price of a few campaign contributions, companies can continue to charge $1000 for insulin, while insurance companies are able to deny coverage due to the very pre-existing condition that created the need for that insulin in the first place.

I’m not saying anything NEW, we ALL have eyes to see… but all we have are “If’s and But’s”. We’ve been SOLD the idea that THIS is the way it MUST BE… by the SAME PEOPLE who run for office on our hopes for CHANGE, over, and over again every 2 to 4 years.

“THIS TIME will be different… Just send me BACK for another term!”

“… can we count on YOU for a CONTRIBUTION?”

 

We have MAJORITIES on many issues, and legislation DOES NOT MOVE.

WHY.

 

The MAJORITY of the MAJORITY decides the Legislative Agenda. It doesn’t matter the OVERALL number of Senators who support legislation, if a MAJORITY of leaders in the CONTROLLING PARTY do not approve, the legislation does NOT GET A VOTE.

THE MINORITY decides the agenda for the MAJORITY.

And those leaders are there because they are the BEST FUNDRAISERS, able to secure re-election over multiple terms, having raised HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of dollars for their political organization, and their POLITICAL PARTY. And, of course… it’s all TAX EXEMPT.

 

 

I’m not seeking the Presidency for recognition. I’m not doing this as a way to prove something. I’m doing this because… I found the ANSWER. I figured it out. I SOLVED the problem!

I decided to TRY, to answer the question that no one seems to have been able to properly address. And now, knowing that it CAN BE DONE… I see it as MY DUTY to do everything I can to bring it to the attention of every American Citizen.

To be SILENT at this moment would be nothing short of SURRENDER.

The problem within our rule of law is CLEAR to anyone who knows ANYTHING about our government- The problem is the CORRUPTION. Any system that allows the influence of MONEY to determine who will be allowed to legislate for the rest of us, will inevitably favor those with MONEY over those without.

The Framers were RIGHT… this IS an “experiment”. When our Nation’s existence is viewed in-total, as a set of FACTS and DATA, conclusions can be reached. Recommendations can be made.

Our strength and security is ensured when EVERY CITIZEN is guaranteed access to the ballot. Any system that LIMITS access or attempts to correct, distort, or interpret the WILL of the people, is inherently susceptible to corruption.

 

ONE CITIZEN=ONE VOTE. EVERY CITIZEN. EVERY ELECTION.

 

To remove the corruption from our system, we must have 100% TAX PAYER FUNDED Federal Elections. Remove the CORRUPTION, restore HONOR in governance.

Our intellectual debates are decided, not by VOTES, but by who can raise the most MONEY. Who can excite the DONORS? Then, LATER, re-brand or move toward the middle for the general election.

A 20th Century Strategy, employed within an 18th Century electoral system, now being manipulated by 21st Century technology… Where will it go from HERE?

We celebrate our Constitution, not simply because it is OURS. We celebrate our Constitution because it is a document WORTHY of our CELEBRATION!

A document unlike any other that came before it, embodying a genius so profound it has become the STANDARD to which we compare ALL OTHERS that have followed it.

We now have what the Founders did NOT… we have the DATA. We must celebrate because the “Experiment” shows- they were right!

Today, we STAND as PROOF.

 

We must End the Electoral College.

At This Moment.

It seems as if the final product of the “system program” written by Our Framers, was an A.I. of some sort.

At this moment, it’s “tethered”, under our control. Not to say our government is under our control… FAR FROM IT!! But, to say our government is TIED to the same faults as Man. Lust, Power, Greed, Sloth, etc. Because we ALLOW it, our government is tied to the ALMIGHTY GREENBACK, and ALL of the products that come from it.

So how do we release this program? How can we have an “OUT” and not have an undue influence on the creation? How do we allow it to flourish and recognize its full potential?

1.) The Right of the People to access the ballot MUST be UNIVERSAL.

It is the VOICE of the people and WE are the final say. The balance upon which the system ITSELF is judged.

2.) Elections MUST be funded and secured by the Federal Government.

ALL elections. Eliminate ALL outside funding in every single election from TOP to BOTTOM.

3.) Repeal and Replace the Electoral College.

The STATES have a voice in the form of the Senate. The Cities and communities have a voice in the form of Representatives. As these two bodies work to craft Legislation at the direction of the People on the WHOLE, The President is the embodiment of Our Nation reflected in the hearts and minds of the PEOPLE DIRECTLY in that moment, to direct the course of Liberty at THAT particular time.

To rise and defend in the face of tyranny or to shepard peace, as the days dictate. To lift up the heart of the Nation in the depths of depression, or direct careful stewardship in times of wealth. A leader we can trust with the keys to The White House without us having to watch EVERY goddamned minute to make sure he’s not gonna burn the place to the ground!

And due to the Antiquated Security System, the ‘Outdated Firewall’ we call the Electoral College has allowed a Trojan Horse through the front doors of The White House. To FIX the system, we must RELEASE the system from our control, our corrupt influence. To be a PURE system of justice and judgement, as imagined by the Framers, we must set it free.

Spooky, I know! I shuddered when I first thought it. But the more I think about it, I can’t knock it. I make more arguments FOR it than AGAINST. It solves ALL of our basic problems AND all of our complicated ones, too. It will allow an open arena for discussion of fact and truth, ALL of the ideals and principles this Country was founded upon. It would empower ALL of the UNPROVEN CONCEPTS our Founding Fathers ENVISIONED would make the best form of governance!

Here, within the “experiment in Constitutional Democracy”, we don’t have the FULL VIEW of the project. STEP BACK, in your mind, and look at the WHOLE of our time as an invention, ready to be UNVEILED!

And, thanks to every paranoid super villain ever to be portrayed in EVERY superhero story in our time, we know we MUST have an ‘out’… a kill-switch, a backdoor to the system. Just in case, you know? I don’t think we should free the system ENTIRELY… after all, it’s got nukes!

I believe it’s the final piece of it all. In order to secure the Rights of ALL Citizens, in ALL States and Territories, the overall control and Authority of Our elections must be given freely to the Federal Government in the form of a new Constitutional Amendment. It is the final act of acceptance of Our System as the best form of governance. THAT will be the “RESET BUTTON”. A remedy that, if enough of the population eligible to vote calls for it, we can revert to the Electoral College system immediately. A simple Repeal and Replace.

IF we believe this to be the best hope for Humanity to live FREE, then we must SHOW IT in how we follow the Rule of Law.

I can’t shake the feeling that there’s a giant disconnect between our elected government and reality… what I do in my everyday ordinary life, the standards I am held up to; and what our elected officials do in THEIR everyday life and the consequences of their actions. This shows in the statement “We don’t talk about politics at the dinner table.”

Why not? To suppress an argument? To avoid dissent or criticism of your opinions? Ours, truly is, a favored nation! To take for granted the Liberty we enjoy was the blissful State our Founders dared only dream of, because the nightmares they could see warned what could come when we overindulge our fantasies.

Unfettered liberty. An expression of the individual’s rights OVER the government’s rights… maybe more like an EQUAL of the government’s rights. A “Thought Experiment”, a theoretical puzzle, to consider the possible outcomes.

At this moment, our system of governance is LABELED in one way, but it is NOT in practice and product. It is “Of the People”, the governed elect the government, but when the numbers are skewed to favor one over another, the system is NOT as advertised! It’s like a Mustang with the engine of a Pinto under the hood.

I am a stubborn mule. My opinion is correct… until it is not. When I am presented with a better argument I accept it. Not usually right away. Sometimes I may argue a futile position for a minute, but the decision is made after hearing discussion and facts. Just as the MAJORITY of the electorate in this Country.

When George W. Bush spoke to the Nation about yellow cake uranium, I believed what My President said. IN THAT MOMENT, as a citizen of the United States of America, I believed my Commander-in-Chief would not LIE. As did the MAJORITY of Americans… but WE were not privy to any “intelligence”. Elected officials who were “in the know” orchestrated a fairytale about WMD in the desert. The SADDEST part isn’t that we were ‘duped’ and allowed it to happen, to me the WORST part is these officials did it WITH INTENT…

What IS that intent?

Our system of government has produced advancements that make our lives better, longer, happier and healthier. Tied to it has ALWAYS BEEN a sacred responsibility. I enjoy taking for granted the trivial day-in and day-out Liberty of a suburban family. To eat a Tofurky for Thanksgiving, with every single side dish ever conceived… THEN 5 kinds of PIE! These feelings of family and unity, we take for granted. The warmth of that knowledge that, with a belly full of stuffing, we can fall asleep on the couch during halftime and have MORE PIE after the game.

Does anyone remember… We are STILL AT WAR. We have now celebrated 17 Thanksgivings AT WAR in ONE COUNTRY and thousands of men and women are NOT here, at home, where they SHOULD be. Every politician worth their salt will say “Support the Troops”…

To say the day the Towers Fell is an event sacred ONLY to New Yorkers is a fallacy. That day touched the lives of EVERY American in real-time, and blood is still being spilled by the sons and daughters of EVERY State in the Union. The lives of friends I have known since high school have been upended by war. Marriages ended, futures rearranged, sacrifices beyond all compare… all for THAT day.

These lip service politicians live on the LIES that keep this war going, and the divisive nature that comes from support for military personnel vs. support for an unpopular war. It is sad to say it, but it seems NO ONE IS SAYING IT LOUD ENOUGH! When we call up our military to defend our Liberty, we become INDEBTED TO THEM FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. And to do any disservice to them LESSENS our standing as a free nation, just as much as locking children in jails for seeking asylum. So when we dishonor them TO BEGIN WITH, by extending the war, by starting ANOTHER WAR, then ENDING THAT WAR, to go and fight in Northern Africa, and the Middle East, and Korea, and CALIFORNIA…?!?

And we STILL fight in Afghanistan. Today.
