A sincere intention to be OPEN and HONEST, regardless of the outcome… for what purpose? For who’s benefit? At the detriment of whom? What are the ends that will justify the collaboration… why even collaborate at all.

Why must the exact same unnecessary Congressional DRAMA, play out every September over the subject of our National Debt Ceiling? It scares the hell out of the markets. It scares the hell out of our International Partners, and it scares the hell out of the American Middle Class… because WE are the ones who stand to lose it ALL if the bottom drops out.
I’m not going to patronize you by saying ‘This isn’t how our Congress WORKS’… because it is. DIRTY, through and thru. They’ve shown themselves. Clearly. This is the extent they will go to for their constituency…

I’m not sure what’s worse… the TRUTH or the SPIN. Watching the Progressive Caucus on all the news shows, talking about how they’ve made progress because conversations have now finally started.
They were never going to BUDGE. Leadership knew it.
Yet they let it all play out… for what.
They engaged in BAD FAITH for the benefit of THEIR party… THEIR agenda. It’s one thing to engage in BAD FAITH for the benefit of the VOTERS… but this series of unfortunate events is NOT what we want.
How would Mitch McConnell have handled this? Imagine if Mitch McConnell were the Champion of Women’s Rights or the Leader fighting to secure our Democracy…
This would have all been wrapped up in NINE MONTHS.

As a TEAM, they created a PLAN. Bickered and negotiated from $6 trillion all the way DOWN to $3.5 trillion… ALONE. With no support from Republicans. It was CAMPAIGNED ON! We know what’s in the bill. We voted to SUPPORT this agenda in 2020.

Bailouts. Corporate handouts. The Military. The Airline Industry. The Auto Industry. Insurance Companies. Healthcare Companies. Big Pharma. The Agriculture Industry. Meat Processing Plants… ‘No worries! The government is ON IT! Here, TAKE MY MONEY!‘
